Sprinklers water soybean fields as the sun rises behind the Tumulus of Midas, also known as the Midas Mound, believed to be the burial place of King Midas or his predecessor.

Weather patterns in this area of Turkey's Anatolian plateau can be favorable to agriculture, and the farming potential enabled the ancient Phrygians to develop a powerful kingdom, complete with skilled craftsmen. Inside the Midas Mound elaborately-inlaid wooden furniture has been found. It is some of the earliest and best preserved wooden furniture in the world.
